Born in the Esquerra de l´eixample neighborhood of Barcelona, Sawe’s drawing ability and his creative tenacity sparked an early interest on the graffiti of his surroundings. His foray into this field began from a young age and soon he became a local reference. Sawe’s illustration shows
a universe where urban life mixes with fantasy elements more common to science fiction and comic books.
With a clear influence from 1950s comic books, vintage american illustration and traditional advertisement, Sawe developed a drawing style in which simple and casual outlines hide very aesthetic and sharp undertones. It is not by mere coincidence then that many have approached Sawe to work on different areas, from spots and videoclips to original product designs. Adidas, The Zombie Kids, Montana Colors or Rebook are only but a few brands that had this young catalan’s collaboration on their projects.
The source of freshness in this artist’s illustrations can be found deep inside his roots.
The graffiti that saw his rise as a creator is an essential element to understand Sawe’s artistic development, where constant mixing, sampling and audacity are key notes in such a fun, attractive and rich creative universe.
